You may wonder why I woke up at 4.00 am in the morning to write this post? Whenever I am inspired by God to write, I will write. God has inspired me to write this post "God is Great!" to share what He has done for me, and hopefully you will have faith in Him.
God saved my life eight times! And maybe more without me knowing it! I just want to inspire you to know that God is great and no prayer is too small for Him.
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.' - John 14:3
God has answered many of my prayers, and of course, some prayers He did not answer for whatever reasons, I trust He knew best. God in all his wisdom may not answer some prayers because He knows the future and will do what is best for us.
Sometimes we do not understand why God did not intervene and why He allows certain things to happen despite our desperate prayers!
Many times my friends and I do not understand why God allow certain things to happen? My answer would be that God knows best and sometimes we are like a 4-year old son trying to understand what the father is doing? Some things are beyond our understanding, only God knows.
Recently God answered two very small prayers. I am in charge of a big community garden and was informed that the town council had decided to fence up part of it, and I was told to transplant some of my plants and fruit trees.
I knew it was going to be a very tough job because I had many plants and young fruit trees. I remembered the verse in John 14:3 and prayed to God in Jesus's name and it turned out perfectly, they did not fence up my community garden at all! The fence came right to the edge of my garden, my prayer was answered perfectly!
The second small prayer was about my 25 year-old electric watch, usually every year I had to changed the battery, it stopped working and I sent it for repair, and was told by the watch repair man that there was no spare parts and he couldn't repair it.
I love the watch very much and it has been with me for 25 years. With faith in the power of God, I prayed to God and the watch started working again! Now I call my watch the miracle watch!
By sharing how God saved my life eight times, I hope you will be inspired and have the faith that God do answer prayers and He loves you. I am so very grateful God has save my life so many times that I must share my story with as many people as possible to bring them closer to God.
The first time, I was 10 years old, and had a major dental operation on my wisdom tooth that was growing towards the side. The dental operation took more than two hours and I was on local anaesthetic, and it was done by a dentist trainee at a dental clinic.
Although the dental operation was supervised by a senior dental surgeon, the trainee must have had some trouble with the operation because it took so long and I must have lost lots of blood.
I had an out of body experience and found myself floating above the dentist and saw him doing the operation on me which was mind boggling for a 10-year old boy! How was that possible! I was wondering how is it possible that I can see the dentist working on me, in a split second I was back to my body.
Later, I noticed the nurses gave me a strange loving look, they must have known that they almost lost me in that operation!
The second time, I was swimming in the sea and found myself in the deep end and was pulled down by the waves. My brother saw me drowning and pulled me up by grabbing the hair of my head. Today I can joke that the loss of my hair was due to that incident but it was worth it because he saved my life!
The third time, I was swimming in the pool at my friend's condominium, I had a leg cramp and was drowning and my friend could see me struggling. When I was sinking I could see him swimming towards me to help me. Somehow I've lost contact with him, Terence if you are reading this, please get in touch with me. God bless you!
The fourth time, I was swimming in a public pool and again it was a leg cramp and I did my best to reach the side of the pool, I drank lots of chlorinated water and my life flashed through my mind like a videotape that was fast forwarded! I could hear the lifeguard's whistle but I managed to save myself with God's help. I believe God is watching over me.
The fifth time, I was on my friend's boat and he dropped a pole, I jumped off the boat to retrieve the pole but was surprised the currents were very strong, I was swiftly swept away! Instinctively I grabbed the rope of a boat that was at the pier and till today I could see clearly the rope that saved my life and I believe God was that rope!
The sixth time, we had a convention in Bali and our group was rewarded with a rafting trip and we stopped at a small waterfall.
It seems like lots of fun when I saw many gathering at the waterfall and I swam towards it not knowing there was a deep dip near it and the water pulled me down and I was tumbling like clothes in a washing machine. I had my life vest on and one of the guides grabbed my vest and pulled me up!
It was very cold and I stood there trembling and I put my hands together and looked upwards to the sky and prayed. I didn't care how many people were watching me at that time, I was so grateful that I was saved and I thank God for it!
The seventh time, I was a tour leader and I've taken care of over 40 tour groups to USA. We stayed at the Hilton hotel in San Francisco and this five-star hotel had huge king size beds! At about 4 am in the morning I woke up to go to the toilet to pee and after that, seeing the huge king size bed before me, I mischievously dive into it as if I'm diving into a pool!
I must have slipped on the thick bed cover and hit my forehead onto the sideboard of the bed! There was a cracking sound and luckily I was still conscious or else I would have bled to death!
I knew it was serious damage because I could feel the blood oozing out of my forehead and I rushed to the mirror and saw that there was lots of bleeding. I quickly called the operator and told her what happened, she gave a gasping shriek and immediately called the ambulance.
The ambulance came and I was sent to the nearest hospital, later I found out that the hospital at Jackson Street was where Bruce Lee, my grandmaster in Jeet Kune Do, was born! The doctor got a plastic surgeon to stitch up the gash on my forehead and he did a good job, I had only a very slight scar.
The eighth time, I was crossing the road and a motorbike that was going very fast missed me by an inch! The guy stepped on his brake and he was very shocked that he missed me! God must have pulled me to the side at the right time!
God is Great! He loves you. Trust Him.
God Bless You!
With Love and Prayers.
